5 TIPS ON CREATING BOUNDARIES BETWEEN PERSONAL LIFE AND WORK-LIFE WHILE WORKING AT HOME

Working remotely is more than just a trend. It’s more than working from home on the weekends or taking an occasional vacation day. Working remotely is about changing the way we work and how we interact with our co-workers, clients, and bosses.  Remote workers are happier, less stressed out, and produce better work than their office counterparts. By allowing people to choose where they want to be productive you create an environment that promotes creativity and innovation while also reducing overhead costs for your company. With all that working remotely can be more challenging because being at the house most of the time would not separate you from doing your personal thing during your working hours. 

The hustle never stops for those who want to succeed professionally, even when they’re in their own beds or behind closed doors. Making boundaries between personal life and work-life are becoming more permeable every day. For example, some people like to go on vacation while they’re still working at home as if it were just another day off of the job schedule; or perhaps you have a family member who feels bad about not having time for their kids because of managing both is so difficult. 

In the digital age, boundaries between work-life and personal life are blurred. As a result of this trend, many people start working at home to increase flexibility or because they enjoy it more than going into an office every day.

Let’s take a look at five habits that can turn remote work into what it was designed for, a flexible route to a better work-life fit:

 

1. Maintain Office Hours

Maintaining office hours while working from home is important if you want your productivity to thrive. To stay productive and on track with tracking the time of day, set boundaries for yourself by setting a schedule that works best for both work-energy levels as well as social obligations such as those involving family or friends.

A key component in maintaining good mental health when employed remotely (or any type of telecommuting) it’s crucial not only to maintain regular daily routines but also to make sure they align properly with their needs around making money doing something meaningful during downtimes at home.

2. Plan and Prioritize

It’s easy to get distracted when you’re working at home. That is why it is important that quality over quantity be your priority and plan ahead before starting work, so as not to have too many distractions or else face a difficult task with little progress made on deadline night. 

3. Set Boundaries on Technology

While working from home, it is important to set boundaries and prevent distractions. Otherwise, you may find yourself distracted by other devices that can’t be used for the job while trying to complete crucial tasks like writing assignments or meeting deadlines with clients in person instead of online meetings – Set time limits on electronics when necessary  – Put away all electronic devices at least 30 minutes before starting work so they aren’t temptations during breaks.

4. Take Breaks and Get Some Exercise

Taking a break and getting some exercise is essential for your mental well-being. You need the physical, emotional, as well spiritual aspects of life in order to be at 100% when working from home!

If you’re looking into telecommuting opportunities then I’ve got two pieces of advice: first – try not to give up on those days where nothing seems like it’ll work out because even if things don’t go perfectly we should always remember that anything could happen next time around; second—think about how much better you will feel after taking care both spiritually (through prayer), emotionally (with sports) and your body needs to be in good shape for productivity. It’s also important not only because you can get distracted easily, but also so that your concentration stays on task longer than if they were skipped.-Working out is a great way to break up monotony when doing tedious tasks like data entry or other office work which require repetitive motions of hands.

5. Set Stop Times

Working from home is always a challenge, but it’s not impossible. One of the best ways to make sure that you’re getting enough rest and exercise while working on your computer all day long–or even if for some reason nothing productive seems like it’s coming out right now-is by setting stop times; this way no matter what time zone or distance separates us between our desks (and homes), we can find ourselves with more unencumbered room in order work toward achieving goals!.

The work is not all going to get done by the end of the day, but you can finish yourself off with a nice cup o’ joe in hand. Long hours have been shown time and again as they dramatically increase strain for employees who are forced into staying at their desks past 5 pm or so without any breaks. What’s your stopping point? You’re never one person- usually, there will be some sorta deadline where everyone else has gone home already but don’t forget about setting an alarm timer every now & then.
