The most festive time of the year is quickly approaching, and this celebratory season has probably got you thinking about how to bring in some good vibes with your coworkers.

As remote work becomes more and more common, it may be time to start thinking about how we can get everyone together for the holidays. The best way is probably still through digital means though because flights are expensive while in-person gatherings carry too much risk of cancellation or change on your part if you don’t plan carefully enough.

Here’s the good news: even if you can’t gather in person this year, you can still host an epic office holiday party in 2021.

5 Virtual Holiday Party Ideas your Team will Love

1. Virtual Holiday Bingo

You know how to have a good time. Online Team Building Bingo is the perfect way for remote employees looking to blow off some steam and get creative, all while being productive as heck in their work.

Here are the rules for Virtual Team Building Bingo:

  • Give out the Online Team Building Bingo board to every remote team.
  • Determine a timeline, which could range from a single video conference call through a month or longer.
  • A player gets a point when they learn detail from a coworker that applies to the Bingo board.
  • Have players track performance, marking an “x” or similar for each box they complete. The center square is a free point for all players.
  • Award prizes for the first player to complete challenges like an entire row or an entire board.

2. Online Raffle

It’s time to get the party started! Woo-hoo,  planned an online raffle for your remote employees this coming holiday season. We know how much they love free stuff so make it even better by giving them something extra special with their ticket entries—maybe an Amazon gift card or VIP tickets at PANDORA? The more prizes we give out in our contests the more people will participate.

3. Personal Facts Guessing Game

The personal facts guessing game is a great way to learn your team members’ interests outside of the work environment.

Here’s how it works:

  • First, the host will ask each team member to share some personal stories with them.
  • These stories will then be compiled in a document that’s shared with each individual in the team.
  • Next to each personal fact, there’s an empty column where every employee will have to guess which team member the fact belongs to.

4. Give Holiday Gift box

The gift of giving is an act that unites people together. Giving remote employees the opportunity to experience this feeling should not be left up to chance, however; sending them a physical gift box can help take away any doubts they might have about being included and appreciated by their coworkers during these hectic times between work.

5. Sing Holiday Carols

You can spice up your Christmas Carol session with a dash of originality. Before the party, you can instruct team members to write their own versions or add additional verses that celebrate how we all come together during these holidays! This is best if done beforehand and assigned specific songs for each group member so they’re prepared when called upon at any given time – just like an actual concert might go down.
